NeuGrowth is a company that helps people build brains. We use information we learned beginning over 20 years ago as well as recently discovered facts about how the brain works, grows and develops. Our track record speaks for itself, as you will see on the “What we offer” page.
Here are some questions our clients have frequently had in the past and some brief answers:
What do you mean when you say you “build brains ?”
What we mean by saying we “build brains” is that we know how to make more connections between and how to grow neurons (brain cells). As recently as 5 years ago, it was discovered that brain cells, or neurons, have the ability to continue regeneration even through adulthood. This process, called neurogenesis, was thought for years to end during the early twenties. The fact that our brains do continue to produce new brain cells gives new hope to those of us at the “senior” side of the age range. New growth (or NeuGrowth) gives us hope because it means our minds can stay flexible and workable throughout our lifespan; we can continue to learn, and our memories can become better with age! The brain is very, very changeable, and you can make it work better, or make it work worse. We show you how to change your brain for the better in unexpected ways. You’ll definitely notice the difference.
How do you build brains, and who do you work with?
We work with anyone needing our programs, and we provide information, facilitate and teach in a variety of ways. This includes: Seminars and Workshops for medium to large companies,

Effects of Stress on the Brain & What to Do About It
Stress kills brain cells and can wipe out memory. Lessening your stress is good for your health, improves your thinking and decision-making ability, and generally promotes a better mood. Let us show you 10 ways to begin reducing stress now.Do monks in Tibet know how to de-stress? We would be wise to take a page out of their book of life. And their brains look fundamentally different from ours in the West! Find out what we can learn.Neuro-MarketingA newly emerging field, neuro-marketing is the intersection between knowledge of the brain and how it perceives information, and the area of the psychology of marketing. See what the latest developments are in this field, and who the go-to experts are. Your marketing plan may need a slight adjustment after this workshop. Details for Newborn and Toddler Programs:The programs of brain stimulation we create for newborns and toddlers include ways to stimulate the sensory pathways into the brain. Each of our five senses picks up information and sends it to the brain. NeuGrowth has been working for over 20 years with parents of newborns and toddlers to show how to present information to this age-group so that it is understandable for that stage of development.
Most people have heard that playing classical music is beneficial for the youngest.
But did you know that if you play largo tempo music (one beat per second), it can calm a baby and make older children more receptive for learning just about any subject? Some say it’s because our heart beats at about one beat per second, and that we heard that while in the womb. Who knows? What I do know is that if you observe newborns, babies and toddlers growing up in a multi-lingual family, you’d see them picking up 2, 3, 4 languages and speaking them all fluently with a native accent by the time they are in elementary school. But did you know that since math is another “language,” babies can pick that up too, much earlier than thought previously? Children as young as 8 months (!) could already tell the difference between quantities, according to research. NeuGrowth teaches parents what to use and how to present specific materials so that pathways into the brain are not only strengthened, but also grow! Our experience is that children who are consistently shown quantities of items beginning very early grow up to be extremely good in math. It also helps them have a terrific memory overall. Check out some of our case studies for details.
Details for Preschoolers:
Since preschoolers are a little older and tend to be much more physically active, we use that in teaching parents the best ways to optimize their brain growth, organization, and development. NeuGrowth guides parents in how to make use of time efficiently and effectively. The main guiding principle here is that brains need oxygen to grow and thrive. Even for adults, our brains work better when we have rigorous exercise daily (we never said this was going to be easy!). Young brains especially, since the rate of brain growth is so amazingly high, need fresh oxygen to nourish the incredible numbers of neurons growing and connecting.
The cool thing about preschoolers is that anything that can be presented in a simple, clear and direct way can be taught. Anything. Physics, if you break it down into very simple terms. We have seen many children learn all four operations of math between the ages of 2-3. By four, we’ve seen kids who go on to fractions, decimals, and who, at the same time, understand money and can tell you what your change will be from a $20 bill when you buy 3 lbs of bananas at $.79/lb. Our experiences and observations defy the limitations some people place on young children. We feel confident we can expertly guide you to defy the limitations too.
Some Techniques That Help Working With Preschoolers, And Anyone:
One really important point about all of this: a good sense of humor goes a long way. We never try to push a child. We teach through their favorite subjects or activities. If a preschooler loves dump trucks we might suggest going to a place where dump trucks can be observed. Then come home, build a miniature dirt pile, and let the child go to town doing what he just saw being done. For those parents who like science, we recommend certain books, activities and resources to impart some basic science principles in a simple way to young kids. If you follow a child’s interests and teach through them, they will always be motivated to learn more, and they will thoroughly enjoy themselves. When you see their eyes shining with interest, you’ll know you’re on the right track. Just never push them. How would you like your child entering kindergarten to be so knowledgeable and able that he essentially has been “school-proofed?”
Forget the debate about public vs. private school or charter school. Teach them to be ready before they start, before kindergarten. We will show you how; read on for some real cases of parents readying their child during the 1st five years of life.
Details For Students in Elementary, Middle, High School and College
NeuGrowth provides tutors for all subjects, all ages, including pre-school through college. We prep high school kids for the SAT, ACT, middle school students for the SSAT, college grads for the GRE. Any child can get help from us to prep for any exam. Our group of tutors is excellent in any academic subject, including foreign language. Our tutors have been trained in brain development concepts and use awesome techniques we’ve developed to make our program the most unique and effective in the entire area!
We put together fun, exciting summer camps and after-school classes for enrichment (we’ve had over 9 years of experience creating and teaching summer camps for the Smithsonian Associates). For example, one camp we’ve done that kids loved was on the Navaho tribe of Native Americans. During the week the kids helped us build a real Hogan (the traditional home of the Navaho), just the right size for children. Two boys became the “keepers of the Hogan,” making sure nothing got broken and trying different activities in and around the abode. Kids around the Hogan were busy pounding corn using a mano and metate, hanging “sheep skin” to dry, “cooking” and trying out weaving. Each afternoon, at the end of the camp day, all 16 kids, 2 assistants and 1 teacher crammed into the structure to tell a campfire story (usually a Native American myth) around a make-believe campfire made from orange, yellow, and red tissue paper above the glow of a flashlight. For at least 30 minutes, (sometimes all day) we were Navaho, and it was great! NeuGrowth also helps kids who are disorganized become organized, and improve study skills, concentration, focus, and decision-making. You’ll see, when these skills improve, a person’s self-esteem and self-respect goes way up. Although it’s not a separate course, tutoring and group classes serve to increase positive emotional intelligence, a set of skills which is being recognized as being as important as cognitive skills.
